Water quality is sensational. We self catered and also used Jess from Feathers Cafe in Coonabarabran. She delivered amazing meals to the accomodation was an absolute delight to deal with. Recommended by the hosts thanks guys.

It is hard to describe in words what a unique and wonderful experience staying at the Dark Sky Eco retreat was. Mark and Wendy are amazing hosts who offered above and beyond hospitality, tours of their amazing off grid property, Emu feeding and a journey to the stars via their telescope and astronomy tour. The accomodation was immaculate and the huge outdoor spa which was already piping hot when we arrived was just the icing on the cake. One of the best experiences I've had travelling around NSW for both adults and kids. Very highly recommended.

We loved our stay here with our 6 month old baby. Extremely relaxing location and very warm hosts. The accommodation was also beautiful & homey with everything that you could need.

Mark and Wendy are meticulous hosts. They offer you the chance to participate in their working Emu farm or learn about off grid living. Mark and Wendy guide you as little or as much as you want.
Mask and Wendy have an awesome observatory for star gazing.
They strike the right balance between privacy, and involvement the various activities they have available.
The Yurt accommodation is extremely comfortable using off-grid power to fire up aircon when required, pay TV and kitchen appliances. The spa on the deck is awesome.
It's a great place to relax. Sit by the creek, in one of the picturesque outcrops, float in the spa, or in front of the fire.Good disabled accessibility also. You should all go!

Mark and Wendy were exceptional hosts. Their hospitality was absolutely amazing and they really thought through the experience. Interacting with the emus was such a unique experience. Both Wendy and Mark have such a wealth of knowledge about agriculture, astronomy and most importantly the emus and it was so lovely to be able to learn a little bit more. The accomodation was so nice, we especially loved the jacuzzi and sitting outside with the curious emus.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Mark and Wendy are great hosts and they make you feel welcomed and at home from the minute you arrive. The emu safari and sky watching adventure are unique experiences that are enhanced by Mark and Wendy’s vast knowledge. To top it off, the lodge is just spectacular! It is so clean, beautifully designed and has a huge deck with a spa and Weber BBQ overlooking the paddocks.
