Since 2019, Dark Sky Eco has offered a unique cultural safari that includes an unforgettable emu experience, guiding guests through our sustainable farm. This immersive safari tour showcases emus, sustainable farming, and off-grid living, blending education with adventure.
Experience an enriching cultural safari as you get up close with emu eggs and learn about their fascinating incubation process. Discover the emus' vital role on our farm and their cultural significance, creating a memorable emu experience that enhances our safari tour and celebrates both nature and heritage.
Embark on a cultural safari to marked trees, where we share the Aboriginal concept of time as 'the now' and the Emu in the Sky constellation, linked to the season when our emus lay eggs. Join our safari tour to the creek and explore the Warrumbungles geology, connecting you to the land’s ancient story and enhancing your emu experience.
New for 2026 – exclusively for guests staying 3 nights or more.
Discover the ancient beauty of Dark Sky Eco's private heritage-listed sandstone caves on this unique guided tour. Travel 8km round-trip in comfortable electric golf carts, then enjoy two short bush walks (about 1km each) with gentle gradients through stunning rock formations.
Along the way, marvel at layered sandstone structures with vibrant colours and patterns. We'll pass through our scale model of the outer solar system and, weather permitting, share insights into daytime astronomy.
At the rock shelter, learn about its significance to Aboriginal people – from the stories behind the rock art and carvings to grinding grooves and ancient artefacts still in place. Archaeologists have praised the site's exceptional preservation and cultural depth.
This half-day (morning or afternoon) guided tour is weather-dependent and offered at your hosts' discretion. Guests staying 3+ nights can express interest and book on arrival.
Pair it with our Emu Safari for a full-day adventure – contact us for details.
We love helping our customers, so feel free to call during normal business hours. If you get our voice mail we are probably on Safari with guests and the Emus and will call back as soon as we are free.
